Initially I wanted to make it some sort of Tolkien'esque elven woods with some fantasy elements in it but decided to go with this instead.
A very old writing of mine that kinda fits this painting pretty well:
At times you might see yourself as a hopeless entity;
roaming through the woods that no one but you can see.
In these woods you will see many things including illusions trying to delude you from the truth; rendering your conscious concealed from the reality but instead covered with imagination.
You'll follow these delusions for eternity.
At times, you won't realize your mistakes until they come back and hurt you.
Mistakes that won't fade nor go away. Only to remain to remind you, haunt you, and taunt you.
If only you could reach the end of this forest to find help
from these mindless dreams
which cause nothing more than blunt blindness from the truth.
The truth that you at times refused to accept due to your unconscious awareness of denial
about the truth that you don't like and never will.
Photoshop + Wacom : about 10 hours
+ give or take 5 cups of coffee; 30 episodes of Scrubs and a huge argument about ethics in science.
very very nice but the chair ruins it sooo much, please get rid of it.
but this is a beautifully crafted peice, and deserves recognition.
+Fav, if you egt rid of the chair

is so smart, i won't notice if u sit in the same room as me for a good half hour. 98% of Deviants don't know the difference between "your" and "you're." If you're one of the 2% that wants to punch 'em, put this in your sig.
Hm thanks for the comment man, i followed up on your advice and removed the chair. You were right.
It really did sort of spoil it a bit; but it is also true that i wanted it there in the first place to give that whole idea of solitude.
What's more solitude-esque than a chair in a deep forest?
Very beautiful, I really like the persective, as if there is something behind the trees that we are not supposed to see, but when we step through them..... :]
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
